Website and portal terms

The rules for using orata.io and the Orata client portal. Mostly common sense, written down.

Last updated 2 October 2026

About these terms

These terms cover your use of this website and the client portal at app.orata.io, both run by Orata Ltd, company number 12019287, registered office c/o Armstrongs Accountants, Alexandra House, Queen Street, Leek, Staffordshire, England, ST13 6LP. By using either, you agree to them.

If your business works with us, our terms of business cover the work itself, and win if the two ever disagree. How we handle personal data is in our privacy policy.

Portal accounts

  • Portal accounts are for our clients and the people they invite. You must be 18 or over and using it for a business.
  • Keep your password to yourself and turn on two-factor sign-in. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.
  • Account owners and admins decide who on their team has access, and can remove people at any time. When someone leaves your business, remove them.
  • You can delete your own account from your account settings. You'll have 30 days to change your mind before your personal details are erased.

Using it fairly

Please don't:

  • try to get into accounts, data or parts of the system that aren't yours
  • upload anything unlawful, or anything containing viruses or other harmful code, or anything you don't have the right to share
  • probe, scan or load-test the site or portal, or get round its security, without our written permission
  • scrape or copy the site or portal with automated tools
  • use the portal to harass anyone or to send spam

If you find a security problem, tell us at [email protected] and we'll thank you for it. We can suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we'll tell you why.

What you upload

Tickets, files, messages and anything else you put in the portal stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it and show it to the people on your account, so we can run the portal and do the work you've asked for. Nothing more.

Availability

We work hard to keep the site and portal running, but we can't promise they'll always be available or free of errors. We sometimes need to take them down for maintenance, and we'll try to do that out of hours. We may change or remove features over time. Anything your support plan promises about response times is in your plan, not here.

Our content

The words, design, code and images on this site and in the portal belong to us or the people we license them from. You're welcome to share links, and to quote short extracts with credit. Please don't copy the rest without asking.

Links to other websites are there because we think they're useful. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for them.

Liability

The information on this website is general. It isn't advice for your particular business until we've talked about it. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for loss that comes from relying on it, or from the site or portal being unavailable.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow to be limited.

Everything else

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and if a change matters to portal users we'll email them first. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

Questions go to [email protected].
